It’s Random Acts of Kindness Day! To celebrate, we want to tell you about ways in which we show kindness by giving back as an organization. Keep reading to learn about some of the things we do to positively impact Nevada and the Las Vegas community.
Demonstrating Solar Power for Education
One of our favorite things to do at Bombard Renewable Energy is to educate people about solar energy. We’re able to do this by setting up a solar trailer at schools to do solar demonstrations for students. This gives us an opportunity to explain how solar energy works. We believe that students are our future, and we like using these times to tell them about ways they can reduce their carbon footprint, ultimately encouraging them to consider using solar energy as they go out into the world on their own one day.
In addition to educating students, we enjoy educating families in Nevada about renewable energy. One event we look forward to each year is GREENFest – a family-friendly public gathering and celebration of Earth Day. Similar to schools, we bring our solar trailers out to this event to educate local families on how solar energy works. In addition, we encourage homeowners to make the earth better by considering installing solar panels on their homes.
Donating to Make a Difference
We love giving back to nonprofit organizations in our community, and we’re proud to say that we have donated solar panel systems for a variety of locations including Safe Nest, a home for battered women. Safe Nest has been providing services for battered women in Nevada since 1977. Their mission is to be the leading advocate in breaking the pattern of domestic violence by providing confidential and comprehensive services including shelter, counseling, advocacy, and prevention. We’re proud of the services this organization offers to those in need, and we’re happy we can help them save energy so they can work on saving lives.
Solar NV is another nonprofit organization we’re proud to give to. If you didn’t already know, Solar NV is the Southern Nevada chapter of the American Solar Energy Society. Their mission is to educate Nevadans about the benefits of renewable energy and to encourage and promote the use of sustainable energy technology. They’re all about education, and they meet monthly to provide solar energy updates and feature speakers from a variety of renewable energy areas. The best part? Anyone is welcome to attend these meetings! We’re proud to be the largest sponsor for this organization and we can’t wait to see how they continue to educate people in Nevada on the benefits of using solar energy.
We’re proud to be in Nevada, and we’re glad we can give back so people can have the opportunity to learn about how to make the earth more sustainable through the use of renewable energy. How are you giving back on Random Acts of Kindness Day and every day? There are plenty of nonprofits that need your help. Check out this list of organizations in Nevada and consider donating so we can continue making this a great place to live!
